Apple iPhone 8 Tipped to Feature Flat OLED Display and Removal of Home Button
Apple iPhone 8, or iPhone X, is expected to be the high-end smartphone model launched by Apple Inc in year 2017 – This year Tech Giant Apple will celebrate iPhone’s 10th Anniversary. It is said to launch the new iPhone 8 on the occasion of the anniversary. Besides, Apple is expected to launch new versions of the iPhone 7S and iPhone 7S Plus, with more added features and specifications. While several previous reports had rumored the use of a curved OLED display on the Apple iPhone 8, a new report indicates Apple will go with a flat implementation instead.
A report claims that Apple iPhone 8 will beat the Samsung Galaxy S8 in Sales numbers. As per the report of MacRumors, IHS Markit analyst Wayne Lam said, Apple will use a regular OLED display with a 2.5D curved glass design – which is the feature of iPhone’s display since the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus in 2014. Wayne Lam also added that the Apple may also adopt a display aspect ratio alike to the LG G6’s 18:9, a design decision Samsung has reportedly also taken with the Galaxy S8. Galaxy S8 is to be launched later this month as per reports.
“We anticipate Apple will adopt a flat implementation of OLED design on their special iPhone model, which is analogous to the current 2.5D glass design, Much like the recently announced LG G6, we anticipate a touchscreen with a new longer aspect ratio design to take advantage of higher coverage area of the iPhone in its entirety. This new design language is expected to become the trend for 2017, as we all anticipate Samsung’s reveal later this month,” Lam Said.
A recent rumor also claims that the new iPhone 8 will not have the Home Button, instead, It will have a display integrated fingerprint scanner. Also, The premium iPhone 8 model may be called as the iPhone Edition, similar to the terminology used for the Apple Watch Edition.Other rumors are coming on the internet are about the inclusion of USB-C based fast charging, wireless charging technology, Facial recognition, Enhanced Touch ID and 3D Touch, and other augmented reality features.
